        <![CDATA[<p><span>The 32<sup>nd</sup> International Conference on Plastic Optical Fibers (POF2024) will be held from November 11<sup>th</sup> to 13<sup>th</sup>, 2024.  </span></p>
<p><span>The 32<sup>nd</sup> International Conference on Plastic Optical Fibers (POF2024) which Prof. Yasuhiro Koike will serve as General Chair, will be held at TOGO-KINENKAN/TOGO Jinja (Shrine) and at Keio University Mita Campus, Tokyo, Japan from November 11<sup>th</sup> to 13<sup>th</sup>, 2024.</span></p>
<p><span>International Conference on Plastic Optical Fibers was first held in Paris in 1992, and ever since then it has been held annually in different countries. It is the only academic conference specialized in POF, organized by the International Cooperative of Plastic Optical Fibers (ICPOF).  This year, it is going to be held after 5 years in Tokyo since last held in Japan.  </span></p>
<p><span>Recently, IT technologies are skyrocketing along the demand for generative AI, cloud computing, IoT devices, dissemination of VR/AR, however, on the other hand the society faces issues such as increasing heat, cost, energy related to the rapid advancement in communication technology and are pressed to revolutionization of the optoelectronic technologies on much stronger tie with the government and industry.  </span></p>
<p><span>Plastic optical fiber has been attracting a great deal of attraction as the key material that has the possibility to tremendously contribute to our society by solving existing problems and improve our lives owing to its unique characteristics such as flexibility, high speediness, optical properties, low invasiveness, sensing properties, low cost, etc. </span></p>
<p><span>At POF2024, we are going to have technical sessions and Exhibition focusing on POF covering various topics where POF researchers and engineers coming from around the world to present and to discuss lively their latest research and developments, as well as future applications.</span></p>
<p>On the 1<sup>st</sup> day, POF2024 will take place at TOGO-KINENKAN and TOGO Jinja located in Harajuku, Tokyo, since our proposal was adopted by the <span>Japan Tourism Agency's "Demonstration Project for Enhancing Attractiveness as a Venue for International Conferences", we have chosen TOGO-KINENKAN with exquisite Japanese garden and TOGO Jinja (shrine) where Admiral Heihachiro Togo is worshipped as the venue, which is located very convenient as only 3 minute-walk from Harajuku station.  We are very proud and happy to carry it out for especially for attendees from overseas who can enjoy and experience Japanese beauties, cultures and history while they attend the conference.</span></p>
<p><span>On the 2<sup>nd</sup> and 3<sup>rd</sup> day, POF2024 will change its venue to Keio University Mita Campus.  </span><span>We will have more technical sessions as well as 14 Exhibition booths by POF manufacturers, device manufacturers, system makers, etc.  </span></p>
